Choosing A Career Should Lead To Your Ultimate Fulfillment
Choosing a career can be one of the most exciting, fun, and challenging processes in your life. There are so many choices to consider when career planning. What field do you want to work in? What location? What do you want to do? How much money do you want to earn? Where do you see yourself being in the next five years? Those are just some of the questions you may consider when choosing a career.
Everyday we are bombarded with other sources telling us what we should do and what's socially acceptable. “Go to school. Get your masters degree. Get a secure job with benefits. Work for your money. Save your money. Stay with the crowd.” According to the social norm and government, this is the path to success and security. Now, these intentions are meant to help, but working in a career is much more than “having security, benefits, and earning money.” While these are all important, having fulfillment in your career should be the deciding factor. Security, benefits, and earning money will be the by product from a fulfilling career. This may sound extreme, but when you're lying on your death bed with only a few hours left to live, are you going to be thinking about your house? Your bills? The car loan? Absolutely not! Your probably going to think about what you've accomplished and achieved in life. You're going to think about the connections and love you shared with family and friends. So, put that in perspective and pursue a career that meets your deepest desires, expresses your creative self, and gives you the rich rewards that you deserve. If you're going to spend a third of your day working, might as well spend that time with something you love doing. Did you know that you can do something that you absolutely love doing and be handsomely rewarded for as long as you choose to? Having a fulfilling career and choosing a career is not all about the money, it's more about the contribution you provide and the well-being you get from your work. Don't worry about the money, money will be a by product for the value you provide. I guarantee you'll earn more money doing something you love, rather than doing work because it pays a high salary. A word of caution here, there is a belief going around saying, “You can't earn money doing something you love.” If that's a belief of yours, who told you that and how can they prove that you can't earn money doing what you love? The source telling you that has no idea of the true concept of earning money. If you don't know the truth about earning money, I suggest you check out my

Of course you're going to have success and your success will multiply and keep multiplying when your working in a fulfilling career. If you're in the process of choosing a career, make sure to keep your focus on doing what you love to do. Surprisingly, when you do what you love you tend to increase your financial gains. If you're stuck in a career that you know is not for you, and the only thing you can think about is how your going to get out of here, stop right now and be thankful for what your work is providing you with. Then, start planning out in detail what you see as the perfect career. Once you have that imagery on paper, begin right where you stand to give 100% effort in your current work. You should always take action steps to where you want to be, however, the Universe will bless you a thousandfold when you're going full on where you presently stand. You may ask, “How can this be?” Well, when you are giving 100% to something constantly, eventually you're going to out grow that position. Then, this world has no choice but to accommodate your growth and you will be offered opportunities and advancement to the vision you have in mind. Let's now get a deeper understanding of where you stand with your career, then how to create a fulfilling one. First and foremost, you have to assess where you currently are in relation to your current career and it's fulfillment. Mentally rank it from 1 to 10, 10 being your career that you absolutely love and 1 being you absolutely hate. Done it yet? Great! Realize that if you didn't rank a 9 or 10 you actually have a 1. Now that you know the truth about your circumstance, you have the power to change. Accept your current position, begin putting maximum effort in your work, and lets start learning how to create the fulfillment you deserve. The career you choose should be the medium for your creative self expression and overall purpose in life. There are three components that can lead to greater career fulfillment when you become consciously aware of them. They are: - Value
- Impression of Increase
- Enjoyment
ValueAre you focusing on working to earn a paycheck or focusing on ways to provide more value to others? Choosing the latter is the only path to true career fulfillment and it's only a decision to do so. You must understand, right now, that the money you earn is in direct correlation to the amount of value you are providing. Your money doesn't come from the company you work for or the business you own, money comes from spirit and flows in and through the company you work for or own. The universe knows when you're providing true value even if you do get stiffed in a particular transaction. The law of cause and effect is always in play. Like causes produce like effects and the universe will always reward you in some form. Begin to shift your attention from getting money to giving 10 times the value than what your service is worth. Money is just a medium of exchange. It's a means to an end, not an end in itself. You don't find fulfillment in having the green pieces of paper in your purse or wallet. Your fulfillment comes from the value you are giving to someone and the things that money can buy to make your life more enjoyable. The other side of value you should consider in your career is your own personal values. What do you value in life? Figure out what you value and incorporate those into your career choices. For example, if you value contribution, but the company you want to work for values making money at any cost, then you are not going to get the most fulfillment and satisfaction out of your work. You will be less motivated and your income will probably stagnate. If you need help in choosing personal values, visit

Now that you understand providing fair value for compensation in exchange and choosing a career that resonates with your own personal values, lets move on to the second key to career fulfillment---Impression of Increase.
Impression of IncreaseI believe Wallace Wattles coined the term, “Impression of Increase” in his book, “The Science of Getting Rich.” In that chapter he states, “The normal desire for increased wealth is not an evil or a reprehensible thing; it is simply the desire for more abundant life; it is aspiration. Your are a creative center, from which increase is given off to all. Be sure of this, and convey assurance of the fact to every man, woman, and child with whom you come in contact. No matter how small the transaction, even if it be only the selling of a stick of candy to a little child, put into the thought of increase, and make sure that the customer is impressed with the thought. Convey the impression of advancement with everything you do, so that all people shall receive the impression that you are an advancing man, and that you advance all who deal with you.” When choosing a career, take Wallace Wattles' advice as quoted above. Then, think about “how can I” give the impression of increase to everyone you come in contact with. If you master giving the impression of increase to everyone you meet, your console will be sought after often. You probably already know people like this in your life. They are the companies and individuals whose only marketing is word of mouth. They don't need to market because these people consciously or unconsciously give the impression of increase to every customer they meet. Practicing the impression of increase will bring outstanding results into your employment or business. On top of that, you will feel truly fulfilled that you're contributing to the lives of others. You are now mastering what it's like to have a fulfilling career; you're giving value and being compensated, and you're increasing the lives of others through the value you decided to provide. The last key in career planning and it's fulfillment is enjoyment.
EnjoymentDo you really enjoy doing what you are doing? If you dread going to work every morning there's a good chance you're not enjoying your career. Now, I can't say that you're going to be charged and can't wait to start your work everyday. Of course there are going to be challenges and sometimes going to work may be the last thing you want to do. However, even if those feelings creep in, they should never knock you off your game and you'll always remember why you choose this career. Anyone can find a career to enjoy. The simplest way to do this is rule money out of the equation. This doesn't mean money is not important. Money is important in which the field money operates in. All I'm saying is choose your career from the thought, “Do I really want to do this?” Or, another question you could ask yourself is, “If money were not an object, would I make this decision?” You can earn money in anything; if you're providing value you will be rewarded. It's more important choosing a career that you're passionate about, that gets you going, and keeps you going no matter what the current results may be. When you work from a state of enjoyment, your days will be more fulfilled and you will be giving customers a rewarding experience. Success in your career will be everlasting if you implement the ideas of Value, The Impression of Increase, and Enjoyment as stated above. Your life is only as rewarding to what you put into it. The more fulfillment and increase you give others, the more fulfillment you shall have of your own.
